PastureMap livestock management is made simple by using the following buttons: Add Animals, Add Notes, Weigh, Move Animals, Cull Animals, Delete Animals, and Bulk Edit.
Caution: If you delete animals or a herd, you will be deleting all grazing records associated with those animals / herd. Contact support to see if deleting is the correct action to take.
+ Add Animals
Adding animals to an existing herd: Herds > select the herd you need to add more animals to > Select the green + Add Animals Button > Enter the number of animal(s) > Enter the date the animal(s) were added to the herd > Enter the last weigh date, weight, target ADG, and estimated DMI > Add
Weigh
Weighing one head of livestock: Herds > select the herd the animal is in > Live Animals List> select the box to the left of the individual animal > click the weigh button > enter the updated weight > Apply
Bulk weighing multiple animals: Herds > select the herd the animals are in > Live Animals List > check the animals you want to weigh or click the select box to the left of Animal ID and enter the number of animals to be weighed and enter > click the weigh button > enter the updated weight > Save
or
Weighing the whole herd: Herds > select the herd the animal is in > Live Animals list > Select All > click the weigh button > enter the updated weight > Apply

- Cull Animals
Culling livestock: Herds > select the herd the animals are in > Live Animals list > check the animals you want to cull or enter the number of animals you want to cull in the select box and enter > click the cull button > determine the cull date > add notes (optional) > determine why you are culling: Culled, Dead, Slaughter, or Sold > Save
I forgot to cull a few animals last month, can I backdate my records? Yes. Follow the above steps, and double check the cull date is the correct date the animals were culled from the herd. PastureMap will automatically recalculate the rest of the records.

Retire
For a cleaner Live herds view, you should retire herds that are inactive, or after all animals have been moved out a herd and none of those animals will return to the herd. You want to retire a herd to keep all of its historical grazing records.
Retiring a herd: Herds > Select the herd to retire > click retire > confirm
Example: The red Cows herd is inactive and should be retired. Using the directions above, you will be shown how to retire the red Cows herd.
Viewing retired herds: Herds > Retired > displays a list of all retired herds
Viewing a specific retired herd’s history: Herds > Retired > Select the herd to view > view all historical information related to the selected herd:
The grazing records and culled records will be displayed to the right of the weight chart, and the list of animals that belonged to the herd will be in the Culled Animals list
Unretire a herd: Herds > Retired > select the herd to unretire > click unretire > begin adding livestock to the herd to continue grazing

Move to…
To combine or move animals from one herd to another use the Move to button: Herds > Select the herd > Live Animals List > Select the animal(s) > Move to > select the herd the animals are going to or create the new herd the animals are going to > select the date > Move
Visuals Example: In the green herd 2nd Year Heifers, I need to move one of the animals to the red Cows herd. I used the steps listed above to move one animal from the green 2nd Year Heifers to the red Cows herd. The last visual shows the animal I moved from the 2nd Year Heifers herd to the red Cows herd.

Add Notes…
To add notes to one or multiple animals: Herds > Select the herd > View Animals > Select the animal(s) > Add Notes > Write your note > select the date > save
Bulk Edit
The Bulk Edit button allows you to update all / multiple animals within the herd at the same time.
Bulk Edit: Herd > Select the herd you want to bulk edit > Select the animals you want to edit or all of the animals in the herd to be edited > Bulk Edit > Select the properties you want to edit and unselect the ones you do not want to edit > Enter the corresponding information > Save
Visual Example: I want to update only Cows 1, Cows 2, and Cows 3 within the red Cows herd.
