Pastures Page Overview – Grassroots Carbon

The Pastures page lists every pasture on your ranch in one place, along with its size, its most recent grazing activity, and any subdivisions. Use it to review your pastures at a glance, find a specific one, and open a pasture to see its full details.

Reading the page summary

Across the top of the page, three totals summarize your ranch:

total - the number of pastures you have mapped.
subdivisions - the number of active subdivisions across those pastures.
area - the combined acreage of your mapped pastures.

Ordering and filtering pastures

The controls above the list change the order of your pastures or narrow which ones show.

Order by sets what the list is sorted on. Choose Last activity, Name, Area, or Creation Date.
The two sort buttons next to Order by switch the list between ascending and descending order.
Filter by name narrows the list as you type. Enter part of a pasture name to show only the pastures that match.

Reading a pasture card

Each pasture shows as a card. A card includes:

A map thumbnail of the pasture boundary.
The pasture name.
area and perimeter.
forage and species, when those have been recorded.
Last Activity - the most recent grazing event, with its date and the herd that moved in or out, including the animal count and total weight.
Herds in Pasture - the herds currently on the pasture.
Subdivisions - the pasture's active subdivisions, each with its name. A pasture with none shows no active subdivisions.

Opening a pasture's details

Select a pasture's name or thumbnail to open its detail page, where you can see its full stats, subdivisions, herds, and event history.

Adding and importing pastures

Two actions sit at the top right of the page:

Add New Pasture starts a new pasture.
Import KML / GeoJSON brings in pasture boundaries from a KML or GeoJSON file.
