The Map page is the central hub of PastureMap — it gives you a live view of your ranch, your herds, and your pasture data all in one place.
Getting to the Map
Click Map in the top navigation bar from anywhere in the app. The map loads on your ranch with pastures color-coded by rest days, herds sitting in the pastures they occupy, and everything you need to check your rotation or record a move without leaving one screen.
Top Navigation Bar
The top navigation bar runs across the top of every page and contains five main sections of the app: Map, Pastures, Grazing Chart, Herds, and Todo. Your account name appears in the upper right corner.
The Map Panel
The map panel sits on the left side of the screen. Across the top of the panel is a row of nine icon - the orange arrow on the far left opens and closes the panel itself, and the remaining eight icons to the right each load a different set of information or actions in the panel below. The map canvas stays the same as you click through them.
When the map first loads, the panel defaults to Ranch Overview. This shows your total acreage, total animal count, your most recent herd activity, upcoming planned herd moves, and a full newsfeed of ranch activity with planned versus actual move columns. Click the orange arrow to collapse the panel for a full-screen view of your ranch. If the panel is collapsed, clicking any icon will reopen it.

The Map Canvas
The map canvas fills the screen. Pastures show as outlined polygons color-coded by rest days by default. The number inside each polygon shows its current rest day count. Herds appear as animal icons - the icon matches the species of the herd, so cattle, sheep, bison, and others each show differently - positioned inside the pasture currently occupied. Infrastructure markers show the type of feature you have pinned to the map, such as water troughs and gates.
To get around: click and drag the map to pan, scroll to zoom. Use the + and - buttons in the upper right corner to zoom. Click any pasture polygon to open its details in the Item Summary panel.
Map Imagery
The map uses satellite imagery by default. The imagery source and date are shown in small text at the bottom of the map canvas. You can add or remove map layers using the layer control at the bottom of the map canvas.
