The Search panel lets you quickly find and navigate to any herd, pasture, or piece of infrastructure on your ranch. You can also use it as an address lookup to jump the map to a specific location.
Opening the Search Panel
- Click the Search icon (magnifying glass) in the map navigation bar. The Search panel opens showing your full list of herds, pastures, and infrastructure items grouped into sections.
Searching by Name
With the panel open, type the name of a pasture, herd, or infrastructure item into the search field at the top. The lists below filter as you type, showing matching items across all three sections.
Click any result to jump the map to that item and open its Item Summary panel.
Searching by Address
Use Address search to jump the map to any location that isn't a named pasture, herd, or piece of infrastructure. This is useful when you want to navigate to a road, town, landmark, or coordinates.
- Toggle Address search on at the top right of the Search panel.
- Type an address, place name, or latitude/longitude coordinates into the search field.
- A list of matching locations appears below the search field. Click a location to jump the map to it.
To switch back to searching your ranch items, toggle Address search off.
Browsing and Sorting the Lists
When you aren't searching, the panel shows your full inventory grouped into three sections: Herds, Pastures, and Infrastructure. Each section can be browsed, sorted, and collapsed independently.
Collapsing a section
Click the arrow icon at the right end of a section header to collapse or expand that section. Collapsing sections you aren't using helps you focus on the items you care about.
Sorting a section
Each section has its own Sort by dropdown with options that fit the items in that section. Click the dropdown to see the available sort options.

Next to the dropdown, two icons control sort direction. Click either one to switch between ascending and descending order.
Troubleshooting
- I can't find an item I know exists. Check that you're not in Address search mode. Toggle Address search off to return to searching your ranch items. Also confirm the section the item belongs to (Herds, Pastures, or Infrastructure) is expanded.
- Address search isn't finding my location. Try a less specific input (city and state, for example) or use latitude/longitude coordinates. Misspelled or partial addresses may not match.
- Clicking a result doesn't jump the map. Refresh the page and try again. If the issue persists, contact PastureMap support.
