Convert to Pastures promotes all of a pasture's subdivisions into standalone, independent pastures. The action converts every subdivision in the parent pasture at once and replaces the original pasture with one independent pasture for each subdivision.
NOTE: Convert to Pastures is all-or-nothing. Every subdivision in the parent pasture becomes its own independent pasture in a single step. You cannot pick a subset to convert. |
Opening the Convert to Pastures flow
- Click the parent pasture or any of its subdivisions on the map. The Item Summary panel opens.
- Click Convert to Pastures at the bottom of the panel.
Naming the new pastures
The Convert to Pastures panel opens with a name input for each subdivision. Each input shows the subdivision's area and perimeter as a reference, and the subdivision names from your original setup are pre-filled. Edit any name you want to change before converting.
To match a name input with its subdivision on the map, click either the input or the subdivision. The matching item highlights on both sides.
Saving the new pastures
- Confirm or edit the name of each new pasture.
- Click Convert to Independent Pastures to finish.
- To exit without converting, click Cancel.
After converting
The parent pasture is replaced on the map by the new independent pastures. Each former subdivision now behaves like a regular pasture: it has its own Item Summary, forage forecast, and action set, and the Subdivide button is available again on each one.
Troubleshooting
If Convert to Pastures is missing from the Item Summary
Convert to Pastures only appears on pastures that have active subdivisions. If you don't see it:
- Confirm the pasture has been subdivided. A plain pasture with no subdivisions shows the Subdivide button instead.
- Scroll the Item Summary panel. The action may be below the visible area depending on your screen size.
